To keep your skin beautiful all years, it's essential to remember four important steps in your daily care routine: cleansing, toning, moisturizing and nourishing. Let's take a closer look at one of these steps: moisturizing. Why is it so important?
Moisturization is essential for all skin types, but in some cases it is doubly important. Do you struggle with tightness, flaky or irritated skin, acne, blotchy pores, and heavy use of foundation? Then you have to read this article.
The skin, that has been feeling "thirsty" for a long time, becomes more sensitive, its protective functions are reduced - hence the frequent irritations, the nature of which you can't determine.
Cosmetic experts believe that in 50% of cases the skin becomes dehydrated due to improper care. And above all, excessive cleansing with the use of aggressive means. Women and girls with oily skin prone to acne usually suffer from this - trying to "wash away" excess sebum secret from the face, they cleanse their skin more than twice a day, and even with the wrong products, which have dehydrating effect and violate the skin NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor - the set of epidermal molecules responsible for hydration and fluid retention).
Furthermore, heredity, vitamin deficiencies and an unbalanced diet can all contribute to dehydration. It is inevitable that if dehydration affects the whole body, your skin will also suffer. So remember to observe your daily water allowance and increase it when you work out. That way your skin can be properly hydrated.
Cold outdoor air, heated rooms (make sure you use a humidifier) and prolonged exposure to the sun all contribute to skin dehydration.
If you're experiencing frequent skin tightness, it means that your moisture reserves have reached a critical level. If staying in a moisturizer only gets rid of it for a little while, it's time to quit acting on your own and see a professional. Most likely, thermal water sprays and simple creams with moisturizers won't do the trick - to "patch the holes" in your NMF you have to use richer products which include hyaluronic acid, ceramides, fatty acids, natural oils, proteins and injection treatments.
The sooner you start taking care of your skin, the longer you will keep it healthy and beautiful.
